![]() The freedom and flexibility that Msi gives their customers to customize and tweak in the bios is truly remarkable although Msi ,also have their share of issues and problems in their laptops. Well Msi's GL65 leopard, 115W rtx 2060 varient is undoubtedly miles ahead in these aspects. ![]() ![]() Still we are ready to somehow cope up with the extra heat by managing the heat by undervolting, using it in an ac room ,using a cooling pad or repasting. Well i just hope we with our 2020, helios 300 model with rtx2060 are also able to successfully update the VBIOS the right way instead of flashing it, and get that much wanted perfomance increase from the Gpu we all thirst for.Īfter all the 2020, helios 300, rtx2060 varient has a 230 watts power adapter and a 115W rtx 2060 which is capped to 90W, which is fairly understandable due to the fact that the thermal system (thermal design ), thermal efficiency and the cooling solution is not upto mark for effectively dissipating the extra heat and cooling the laptop from the heat produced by the gpu after the tgp increase (which allows for gpu's increased power consumption ) during heavy work loads. Well the latest 2021 i7 10870H ,rtx 3060 (100watts tgp) model got a VBIOS update to increase the tgp from 100 to 105 watts and my friend was able to successfully update it and got a perfomance increase from gpu.Įven Nitro users got VBIOS update to increase the tgp from 85 to 95 watts. Feel free to give your opinions and insights. Anyways i encourage u guys to try updating the VBIOS and share your experience.Maybe acer might release another bios update which might fix this problem or acer might have posted the wrong firmware file for rtx2060 gpu in my case So I don't know what is the exact cause for this issue in my unit.I tried updating it from both 1.06 and latest 2.02 bios version but to no avail the update failed and the fail message was ' The VBIOS Update file does not support your graphics card. ![]()
